The purpose of the Agronomy Advisory Project Lead is to develop Agronomy Advisory framework to align with the company direction to provide value added service to farmers. This role aims to lead the process of providing Agronomy knowledge to smallholder commercial farmers starting from identifying farmers needs, developing and consolidating knowledge, building Agronomy knowledge center/resources, developing training programs, training the internal teams as the trainers as well as ensuring the conveying to farmers. By providing value-adding service, referring to a solution beyond seeds to small holder farmers, EWS can solidify its position as the leading partner of choice.

Tasks and responsibilities include :

  • Develop Agronomy Advisory Framework, Mid and Long term objectives/plan with clear deliverables and milestones.
  • Identify the needed resources including team structure, requirements and budget to meet medium to long term objectives.
  • Identifying farmers needs/pain points related to agronomy advice, to prioritize and set objectives of EWS value adding service.
  • Act as a project manager to ensure coordination between functions and countries, ensuring projects are on track including budget management.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant functions i.e. Knowledge Transfer, Product Development, Commercial team to gather and consolidate knowledge.
  • Develop a uniform agronomy curriculum and systematically train frontline staff across countries.
  • Exploring possibilities to collaborate with external parties to enhance reach to the farmers or complimentary data/knowledge.
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing to define digital tools and design farmers journey to use digital and supplementary tools to provide service/knowledge to farmers beyond face to face interaction.

Are we looking for you?

  • Advanced university degree in cultivation, Agriculture and other related fields.
  • 5+years of relevant work experience.
  • Hands-on field experience and direct knowledge of crops, cultivation practices, and know how different agronomic practices influence outcome.
  • Strong logical and critical thinking with good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work, network effectively with multi-cultural team
  • Experience in agriculture productivity, agribusiness and market development is preferred.
  • Must be enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated.
