Story

Rutger Groot is a member of the supervisory board of East-West Seed (since 2006) and concurrently chairs the East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation (since 2016). 

Prior to his full-time involvement at East-West Seed, he worked as Strategic Advisor for Direct and Retail Channels at Rabobank International Rural & Retail where he facilitated the realization of Rabobank’s strategic goals in international entities. He also served as Senior Project Manager for Rabo Development where he acquired, setup and managed a range of technical assistance projects in emerging markets and developing countries.

Over his career, he managed several projects in the banking and insurance sector including ACC Bank (Ireland), Credito Agricola Mutuo (Portugal), and Interpolis. He has a Drs/MBA in Business Administration from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Bsc in Business Studies from the University of Buckingham. He attended the FAME Executive Management Program (2011) and International Directors Program (2016) at INSEAD.
